I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with coffee mugs. And, you want to know the craziest part about that? I DON’T even drink coffee. Every single time I’m with my husband and kids on a road trip I buy a coffee mug. The way I see it — it’s a souvenir from a place we visited, so it’s ok, right? Last summer, we took a road trip to Michigan and I bought three (yes, three!!) ‘Michigan’ mugs. I do drink tea, so it’s not a total waste. But still, I can’t seem to control the urge to splurge when I find myself wandering down an aisle or perusing the shelves of that quaint little store in a newly (for me) discovered town.
As a writer, it’s rare that I find myself at a loss for words (knocking on all the wood everywhere). Sometimes, though, you just can’t say what you are thinking. That’s why I was completely overjoyed when I found these four INCREDIBLE coffee mugs at Hey Shabby Me. Each of them so eloquently says what I sometimes wish I could say aloud. I figure, if it’s on the cup, it’s technically in writing and since I’m a writer it’s like the same thing, right?
If you haven’t already visited them, you should definitely head over to Hey Shabby Me to pick up a couple mugs (they also have apparel, bags, notebooks, and more!). Don’t worry, I won’t judge you if you buy more than one!
So, thank you, Hey Shabby Me for giving me a voice where it would normally be frowned upon to say these things out loud. I have a few more mugs I absolutely loved (Book Babe and Boss Lady are two of them — See? I can’t just pick one), so I’ll be back (very) soon. Now, I’m going to go fill up one of these cups and get back to writing.
And if you’re looking for some reading material to devour while you’re sipping from your new mug, pick up my 5-star rated, must-read, debut novel, Everything I Need, at any one of the links below. It’s the first in a series of interconnected standalone novels and it would be an absolute shame for you to miss out on it.
